DESCRIPTION:The University of Valencia celebrates on Monday 11 de maig el concert de debut de la Big Band UV\, a new musical formation. The performance will take place at 19 hours in the central square of the Burjassot Science Campus and will involve the presentation of a project that was born with a vocation of continuity within university cultural life. \nLa Big Band UV és el resultat d’un taller de jazz desenvolupat des de gener des de l’Àrea d’Activitats Musicals\, sota la direcció del trombonista i docent Kako Rubio\, member of the Sedajazz collective. La iniciativa ha reunit més de vint músics vinculats a la comunitat universitària -estudiantat\, professorat i personal d’administració i serveis-\, together with people related to the foundations of the UV and external participants. \nDurant diversos mesos d’assajos\, la formació ha treballat un repertori centrat en diferents llenguatges del jazz modern\, amb peces de swing\, latin jazz\, funk i música contemporània\, that will play in the debut concert. \nMés enllà del concert\, la proposta naix amb l’objectiu de consolidar una agrupació estable al voltant del jazz dins de la Universitat de València\, junt amb altres formacions ja existents en la institució\, and encourage collective musical practice among different profiles of the university community.
