SUMMARY:Artifacts for looking at the sun. Creació de dispositius solars
DESCRIPTION:Dins del marc del programa De tots els pujols arribaven crits\, l’IVAM i Taller Placer continuen activant espais d’investigació\, creation and participation around the upcoming solar eclipse in August 2026. El projecte explora a través de la pràctica artística com els fenòmens naturals generen ressons en el social\, in the bodies and in the shared imagination. \nEn este context s’inscriu Artefactes per a mirar el sol\, a workshop that proposes to reflect on the act of looking at an eclipse and on how the light – in this case that of the sun- pot transformar-se en experiència\, knowledge and emotion. Looking directly at the sun is not part of our daily practice: our eyes are not ready for this and doing so can be dangerous. Al llarg de la història\, els eclipsis han estat envoltats de relats\, fears and superstitions: en algunes tradicions es deia que un animal devorava el sol\, in others that the sky announced a dark omen and that is why people fled and protected themselves during its course. Entre els Dogón de Mali\, per exemple\, the sun and stars were believed to hold knowledge that is not for everyone and that looking directly at it could cause us to go blind; a sign of having seen too much. They understood this light as a boundary between the human and the divine that should not be crossed so that everything remains in the proper balance. No obstant això\, the sun - star on which all life on Earth depends - awakens in everyone from childhood the desire to look directly at it and find out how long we can sustain that encounter. \nArtefactes per a mirar el sol és un taller de cinc dies realitzat en col·laboració amb l’artista Reyes Pe\, in which we will look for ways to inhabit this liminal space. Partint de les conegudes ulleres per a eclipsis explorarem la relació entre escultura\, pròtesi i cos construint ulleres\, helmets and other devices that allow us to observe the sun both directly and through reflections. La idea és que\, en posar-nos-els\, estos artefactes\, deixen de ser simples accessoris i es convertisquen en part de la nostra anatomia\, transforming us into mutant bodies capable of relating to the sun from other physicalities. Un taller que convida a pensar\, des del cos i la creació col·lectiva\, our place in the earthly and heavenly worlds. \nDADES PRÀCTIQUES\nDates: 20\, 21\, 22\, 23 i 24 d’abril\nHorari: of 16.30 h a 19 h\nLloc: IVAMlab1\nInscripcions: mitjançant la web de l’IVAM\nCertificats: L’IVAM certificarà l’assistència\, if the person concerned has attended at least 80% of the sessions carried out. Punctuality and commitment are requested.
