DESCRIPTION:ARIMA SOUL is the musical project born in 2020 en Zarautz\, creado por Mikel Unzurrunzaga Schmitz\, conocido artísticamente como Makala y/o DJ Makala\, and the singer Lidia Insausti. Su propuesta mezcla estilos como el Soul\, R&B\, Funk y Jazz-Groove. En su repertorio principalmente hay composiciones propias cantadas en euskera\, pero también alguna versión de artistas como Marie “Queenie” Lyons\, Gil Scott-Heron\, Prince\,… \nEn sus primeros cinco años han publicado un EP\, varios singles y dos álbumes de estudio con sellos como Elkar Musika\, Enlace Funk Vinyls and Subterfuge Records. El proyecto ha contado y cuenta con la colaboración de numerosos músicos reconocidos de la escena vasca y estatal\, both on recordings and live. \nHasta la fecha\, has offered close to 100 conciertos en Euskadi\, southern France and different cities in Spain. In 2022 fueron seleccionados para «Girando por Salas – GPS#13»\, siendo el único grupo vasco entre los elegidos\, which allowed them to make their first state tour in 2023. Además\, la revista Enlace Funk los ha nominado en sus Premios Enlace Funk «Los Clinton» en numerosas ocasiones\, as "Best New Group" (2020)\, Lidia Insausti as “Best Singer” (2023) and as "Best Group" (2025). In the spring of 2025 publican su segundo álbum\, «Gaua»\, produced by Lalo López (Tony Manero Foundation). Editado dentro de la colección «Música Para Un Guateque Sideral» del sello Subterfuge Records\, el disco incluye colaboraciones destacadas la cantante Lide Hernando «Bele»\, the winds of The Cherry Boppers and several musicians from Nación Funk de Barcelona. Desde su lanzamiento el grupo se encuentra de gira por el País Vasco\, the south of France and several cities on the Iberian Peninsula.
