The meeting between the volcanic piano of Amaro Freitas and the kora and the Mandingo voice of Momi Maiga gives rise to a sound dialogue that connects Recife and Casamance, while tracing an emotional and musical bridge across the Black Atlantic. The duo explores the deep relationship between West Africa and Brazil, in which the African diaspora shaped the Brazilian sound identity and the spirit of contemporary jazz. Among original compositions, passages of improvisation and rhythmic and vocal landscapes, the music flows like a suite in motion, free of borders and labels. Echoes of the Atlantic is a celebration of memory and freedom: a sensory journey in which virtuosity, passion and intercultural dialogue come together to remember that music is, first of all, a territory where all the roots are intertwined.
