Vexations (vexations) and, certainly, one of the most enigmatic pieces in the history of music. Composed by Erik Satie around 1893, it consists of a cycle of chords of only eighteen notes distributed in eight measures, that must be repeated 840 times continuously. John Cage organized the first complete interpretation on 9 of September of 1963. The event took place at the Pocket Theater in New York and lasted approximately 18 hours and 40 minutes.
SoXXI and Soundcool propose to revisit this score by creating an immersive sound space in 6.0, with the simultaneous interpretation of two vibraphones in constant dialogue, live interactive audio and video treatment with Soundcool devices and various dance interventions. The proposal gives rise to a multidisciplinary space in which the sound, the gesture, movement and technology are shared in an immersive way over the course of twelve uninterrupted hours, in a process of collaborative creation.
