DESCRIPTION:Composer and director Maria Schneider returns to Spain leading one of the most exciting projects to emerge around big band music in recent years.: su encuentro con la Clasijazz Big Band\, a formation that has managed to turn musical excellence and collective spirit into an authentic way of life. \nFigura fundamental del jazz contemporáneo y heredera natural de la tradición orquestal de Gil Evans\, Maria Schneider ha redefinido el lenguaje de la big band en el siglo XXI con una obra profundamente evocadora\, free and cinematic. Su música ha sido descrita como «majestuosa\, conmovedora y difícil de clasificar»\, blurring the boundaries between jazz and classical music. Es una de las pocas artistas galardonadas con premios Grammy en diferentes categorías —jazz\, classical and even for his work with David Bowie—and accumulates 14 nominations and 7 premios Grammy\, además de reconocimientos como el título de NEA Jazz Master\, the Rolf Schock Prize from Sweden or his admission to the American Academy of Arts and Letters. \nUno de los momentos más especiales del proyecto será la interpretación de Bulería\, Soleá y Rumba\, una de las obras más complejas e impresionantes de Schneider\, deeply linked to flamenco and Spanish rhythms. Para esta ocasión\, la banda contará como invitado con el saxofonista y cantaor Antonio Lizana\, una de las figuras fundamentales del flamenco jazz contemporáneo\, whose presence brings a unique and deeply emotional dimension to Schneider's music. \nLa orquesta contará además con la participación del acordeonista Philippe Thuriot\, Schneider's regular collaborator and one of the most unique voices in European jazz. The squad brings together some of the most outstanding musicians of the current Spanish jazz scene.
