La obra se basa en testimonios reales de aquellos que fueron internados en la Colonia Agrícola Penitenciaria de Tefía en Fuerteventura\, applying the Law of Vagrants and Criminals. The novel revolves around three ways of narrating.: las cartas\, the internal monologue and narration. A través de estos recursos narrativos\, el autor recrea la vida de homosexuales encarcelados en el campo de concentración de Tefía\, a place of punishment and reeducation. El escritor se inspiró en los relatos de supervivientes como Juan Curbelo y Octavio García para construir su narrativa\, which gives it a strong testimonial component. Por medio de las experiencias de los personajes\, la obra ilustra la crueldad del régimen\, the injustice of the laws and the suffering of those who were persecuted for their sexual orientation. La historia no solo denuncia la represión\, but also recovers the memory of the victims forgotten by official history.
