There are stories that, even though decades have passed, they keep staring us in the face. The Holy Innocents brings to the stage the novel by Miguel Delibes to take us into the rural Spain of the sixties, a world marked by poverty, hierarchies and an inequality so everyday that it almost seems invisible. The adaptation focuses on characters caught between submission and the desire for freedom, and turns this account into an uncomfortable mirror of our own society. Hard, beautiful and deeply human, the work reminds us that some injustices change form, but they don't disappear so easily. An opportunity to meet again, from the theater, with one of the great classics of Spanish literature and see that Delibes still has a lot to tell us. GLORIA POZUELO
