Ripping the ripper is a dramatic text by Jerónimo Cornelles — director of the extinct Bramant Teatre and de Russafa Scenic— which was part of the Barns of Creation 2017-18. the same Cornelles and Rafa Alarcón lead the stage, a boxing ring, this unconventional proposal where the audience surrounds the two actors who practice agile and fast dialogue. With tints of thriller, the plot revolves around a lawyer who tries to solve the murder of five women at the hands of a single killer in order to improve his status. Jack the Ripper is just one of many cinematic references (Alien, Fight Club…) which the author uses to talk about a real social scourge as old as humanity itself, the continuous and indiscriminate killing of women.
