“They have always told us that there is something cinematic in us”

We had lunch with Versonauts, or what is the same, with Ana Sanahuja and Roqui Albero, on the occasion of the release of his album Blue star and the tour that passes through places like Madrid, Canary Islands, Barcelona, Alicante… In Valencia capital we can enjoy it live at Carme Teatre on days 27 y 28 of March. This team—personally and professionally—has achieved some very intimate and very surprising poetic compositions today., depending on what musical horizons. They are water for everyone who, stunned in an era of digital bombardment, need a musical and lyrical “truth” that catharchically resets your soul. A type of beauty that can be accessed through that ancient and sovereign loophole that is music and, in this case, also the spoken song. SERGIO BELLO

How would you define Blue star? What is its essence?
A.S / R.A. Blue star For us, it is an album full of meaning., It's a milestone, is a son, It is an end of a stage and a beginning of another.. Life has many beginnings. a birth, of any kind, produces vital changes that necessarily transform us.

The trumpet, always elegant, los seemed and the electronic effects based on looped keyboards generate a very evocative atmosphere, almost cinematic. It seems like the perfect warp for your letters..
A.S. They have always told us that there is something cinematic in us, well welcome! It is true that cinema has inspired us intuitively. Somehow, the spoken word, by joining with music, often creates almost palpable images.
R.A. In this album we wanted to take the text to its most musical part, through repetition of ideas or experimentation with different vocal textures. Above all, we have tried to create a new formula for us, a new way of playing with words that we have decided to call “spoken song” or “spoken song”.

You have signed contemporary musicians and poets like Jorge Drexler, Silvia Perez Cruz, Chipirón de Cádiz and Raúl Rodríguez for some songs. How have these links been articulated??
R.A. They have been people related to the project with whom we have been lucky to have lived special moments personally and professionally.. We proposed the idea of playing and they agreed with pleasure., Their presence evokes something like Jedi Knights from beyond..
A.S. The album has a lot of exploration and madness and they give us some ground through four poetic bonsai trees in the shape of a tenth. [a type of very complex poetic composition that exists only in Spanish, composed of ten octyllabic verses with a very particular rhyme], that they just tied everything up, It's a touch of tradition. Maybe something that defines us, that constant going from tradition to experimentation.

What will we see in your show?
A.S. a good friend, and author of one of the texts on the album, Pablo Rosal, from the company Agrupación Señor Serrano, he told us a year ago: “I think you are ready to create a ceremony.”. We liked that idea of the ritual. That's where we are...
R.A. You will see a personal experience brought to the stage, a concept understood as something that seeks to maintain the thread from beginning to end. We appear out of nowhere and, as if we were being born, we will gradually mutate. Basically we want what we are going to tell you to also be something yours..
