The Divine Comedy of Oscar Wilde

Astiberri · 2019

The divine comedy of Oscar Wilde, of the already consecrated Javier de Isusi, addresses the last three years of this romantic author's life. Jesus, who had previously shown interest in the writer in his illustrations for The Portrait of Dorian Gray, try to elucubrate with this graphic novel, What the last stage of his life must have been like after his release from prison, exiled in Paris, mired in misery, rejected by everyone and hidden behind the identity of Sebastian Melmoth. The work, taking as reference The divina comedia by Dante, shows Wilde's exit from Hell, his transit through his personal Purgatory and, maybe a little glimpse of Paradise, prior to his premature death.
