As everybody knows, we are confined to our homes. The unexpected arrival of the Coronavirus into our lives has confined us to our homes as a preventive measure and in the fight against the spread of a disease that has already taken thousands of lives in our country and has infected many thousands more.. This fact has caused the closure of all types of centers and, specifically and for the part that concerns us, of recreational and cultural spaces that, just a month ago, They were part of our daily activity agendas. But that doesn't mean we've been completely stripped of our share of arts-related events and, especially, as far as cinema is concerned. In fact, as everyone has also seen, many institutions and spaces dedicated to the dissemination of culture have decided to take advantage of the technology we have in our homes to transfer their activity there.
This is the case of Humans Fest, the Valencian film festival that every year invites us to meditate and commit to the need to keep Human Rights in force in the world. Now that we're stuck in our homes, concerned about protecting ourselves from this global pandemic, it is still necessary to make this reflection. Today more than ever it may seem to us that, focused on saving this problem that has come in our lives, The rest of the problems that once plagued the world have disappeared. And it's not like that.
For this reason, Humans Fest has decided to share a program of films that come to remind us of precisely that, what, although now it seems to us that there is no more conflict than this disease, life, the other, still there, here or in other places in the world, and that the fight to preserve Human Rights is never in quarantine.
Humans Fest has reached an agreement with the production company Cultures of Resistence to offer a series of four documentaries directed by Brazilian director Lara Lee. Each of these works will be broadcast on the festival's YouTube channel, every friday, from 12h. The first of these documentaries was broadcast last day 17 and it is titled precisely like that, Cultures of resistence, and takes a tour around the world to show us different conflicts and how, in front of these, the communities that suffer from them have opposed some type of cultural proposal as a solution. Culture, definitely, as a combat weapon against all types of exploitation of some men over others or against nature.
Humans Fest Resistance, will have a second series of films starting in mid-May.
